Presentation barcode scanners

Presentation barcode scanners are characterized by higher scanning speed and are equipped with a large (in comparison with hand-held barcode scanners) scanning window, which allows using these devices at cash registers with medium and high throughput. Besides good technical characteristics, desktop hands-free barcode scanners have compact dimensions which allow to place this equipment on a small-sized work surface.

Most new presentation barcode reader are designed to read 1D, 2D and "electronic" barcodes from the screens of mobile devices, data capture terminals.

Presentation «Omni Directional» barcode scanners are usually used in stationary mode with POS system, same as built-in fixed barcode scanners. But in some models it is possible to switch to manual mode by pressing button on the device housing. The manual mode of scanning is very convenient when working with bulky goods, which is problematic to scan at the cash desk. In case if wired presentation scanner can not help with scanning because of cable length – you can use wireless barcode scanners.
