Cash drawer

A cash drawer (cash box) is a safe specially designed for convenient storage and sorting of cash at the point of sale. It can be metal, made of steel or non-steel (strong plastic).

The first thing you should pay attention to if you decide to buy a cash drawer is the type of the shape or form factor. Horizontal/front opening/оpening forwards and vertical/TOP-opening/opening upwards boxes for storing money have been developed for various sales points and checkout boxes.

If the cashier's workplace is small and you need to place all the POS peripherals in a small space, then it makes sense to buy a front-opening cash drawer, and install on it a mini-PC, small POS monitor, POS monoblock, bank terminal, currency detector, hand-held barcode scanner.

In addition to the shape, it is important to pay attention to the dimensions of the money safe. TOP-opening cash boxes of many manufacturers have the same dimensions. But horizontal front-opening cash drawers can be conditionally divided into large (about 41 cm wide), medium (about 33 cm wide) and narrow (about 24 cm wide). As for the internal components, the cash box has a tray with compartments for coins (in front) and bills (in the back). The tray or front part (coin box) may be removable in some models. The number of compartments for coins and bills may vary.

The opening of the cash drawer with an impulse is carried out through a POS printer, POS-system, fiscal printer or cash register. The connection takes place via the RJ11 or RJ12 connector.
